‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ starts filming, adds del Toro
“There’s a 6am pick up and then I go straight to doing Star Wars stuff again”, Boyega revealed as reported by BBC.co.uk.
With the start of the production for “Star Wars Episode 8″, several actors have cancelled their scheduled appearances in the upcoming Pensacon in Florida, including Peter Mayhew, who plays Chewbacca; and Tim Rose, who plays Admiral Ackbar.
New cast members for Episode VIII include Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran. Will fans get a glimpse of both Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen within “Star Wars” set? “This is the first of a set of planned stand-alone stories and we’re already in preproduction on our next one, for release in May of 2018”. More importantly though, we are dying to hear what the dialogue originally sounded like, and it would make for a fascinating extra feature when The Force Awakens is released on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the highest grossing movie of all time in the United States, with over $861.3 million.
The Force Awakens has taken 2,008,361,000 USA dollars (£1.38bn) at the worldwide Box Office as of February 7, according to industry body Rentrak.
Much like its predecessor, this latest iteration will also have executive producer J.J. Abrams on board.
There were speculations that Hayden Christensen could indeed return to “Episode 8” but the next “Star Wars” installment would bring the once Darth Vader back into the ghost of the powerful Anakin Skywalker.
By now, we know that Rey (Ridley), Chewbacca (Mayhew), and R2-D2 have all landed safely on an island of an uncharted planet where Luke Skywalker has isolated himself.
“Episode VIII” was originally due to be released in May 2017 but was pushed back to December, reportedly due to last-minute script changes.
