Bush: From South Carolina cameo to starring role
Trump’s liberal record has not been well-ventilated in the Republican race for two reasons. Trump was more forceful on Sunday.
This prompted an incredulous response from Trump: “You fight ISIS first”.
The Ohio governor wanted you to know on Saturday night he’s a uniter not a divider. Early on in his unorthodox political odyssey, Trump belittled McCain’s heroism as a prisoner of war, an apparent violation of common decency and political etiquette that only seemed to make Trump stronger.
Roger Stone, a former Trump advisor and author of the forthcoming book Jeb and the Bush Crime Family, notes how the Republican National Committee has been tightening things up as the untameable Trump has surged.
“She should be running”, Trump responded.
“Donald Trump and anybody else who wants to be critical of George W. Bush, I hope they do it, because the people of SC are sick and exhausted of people tearing down George W. Bush”. As Jeb Bush looks to continue his family’s winning streak on Saturday in the first southern primary, his campaign is becoming an all-hands-on-deck family affair.
Jeb Bush will be campaigning with his brother George W. Bush on Monday, joining him for a rally in North Charleston, South Carolina, and he’s excited.
“The World Trade Centre came down during your brother’s reign, remember that”, Mr Trump said, adding: “That’s not keeping us safe”.
“If Trump is in there, we will be in a war we can’t get out of that will inevitably change this country”, said Phil Wilkins, a dentist from Winnsboro, South Carolina. But he did not say anything that resembles his claim that Bush should not proceed because a war would “destabilize the Middle East”.
“I don’t give a f-, dump the son of a b–“.
“George Bush made a mistake”, the billionaire continued. During a meeting with fund-raisers in December, Cruz explained his tactical approach to Trump and Ben Carson, and a recording of his comments subsequently leaked to the Times.
Both Nevada and SC, which follows the Western state on the Democratic primary calendar, are more racially diverse than lead-off Iowa and New Hampshire. Kasich will be struggling to finance his campaign going forward, especially competing with financial giants now in the race such as Trump, Cruz and Bush.
But it was Donald Trump’s jeer at fellow Republican candidate Jeb Bush that received some hefty backlash. He held special enmity for Bush, who has staked his candidacy in part on his attacks on the front-runner as a man trying to insult his way to the White House.
“I just don’t like the guy”, Bush was reported to have said.
While there was no singular Gingrich moment Saturday, the debate was exceptionally rough and tumble, with few moments of grace and with both Trump and Rubio repeatedly characterizing Cruz as a liar. He described his boss as a natural fighter who won’t be pushed around. Refusing to bow to party orthodoxy or even politeness, Trump trashed one of the most revered families in Republican politics and made a big political bet that standing his ground is better than backing down, no matter how much he is under fire. And then Jeb tries to be the happy warrior when he has his super PAC doing all of his dirty work for him.
That he is coming out now shows the urgency that Jeb Bush sees in a good performance in SC.
Bush, who has wilted in the past under assault from Trump, stood firm this time.
“Two days ago he said he would take his trousers off and moon everybody, and that’s fine”.
Scalia “was an unrelenting defender of religious liberty, free speech, federalism, the constitutional separation of powers, and private property rights”, Cruz said in a statement posted on his Facebook page on Saturday evening. Lujan says if an autopsy is ordered by Scalia’s family or a justice of the peace, then it likely will be performed at the funeral home by an El Paso County medical examiner.
And his rambling answer on his tax policy was cut off by Dickerson telling him, “I’m sorry we have to go to a commercial”.
Another moderator tried to jump in, with no luck. It’s a lie. When you say something that’s not true, it’s called a lie. Trump said, referring to a Boston Globe article in which Bush said he could moon the crowd and the media still wouldn’t cover him.
