Snyder on Clinton’s Flint water comment: ‘Not accurate’
The hearing examined the state of the water crisis in Flint and heard testimony from public health experts alongside Mayor Weaver. Weaver, according to the Detroit Free Press, is trying to stay focused on making the city’s water supply safe again.
Flint schools were under order not to drink the water since September 25, 2015.
Hanna-Attisha said Clinton asked about what lead does and how problems that arise from the substance can be handled by medical professionals, and gathering the necessary resources such as foundation support to combat the effects.
Representatives of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and licensed plumbers plan to visit about 400 homes citywide to teach homeowners how to accurately test water so they can submit regular samples for analysis.
Rick Snyder on Wednesday proposed spending hundreds of millions more dollars to address Flint’s water crisis from lead contamination and to update pipes there and across the state – a plan that lawmakers from both parties generally welcomed as moving in the right direction with the proper priorities.
Governor Rick Snyder’s budget proposal for the coming fiscal year pays a lot of attention to Flint’s drinking water crisis and the state’s infrastructure shortcomings.
But people in Flint still feel disillusioned, and it’s hard to see how that gets fixed.
In the email signed by Gilbert, she tells recipients that “As a mother, my greatest fear is that what’s happening in Flint would be happening to my children”. “We have to start restoring people’s confidence and trust in our city’s water supply. It’s not us who failed them, they failed us”.
The relationship between Flintstones and their government is an especially acute case of what’s happening all over the country. That fix would have only cost the city$50,000 a year.
And if that’s how the whole country feels, it’s easy to imagine how much stronger the feeling is in Flint. Nine full-time investigators were handpicked by the group to examine what happened in Flint, which has rankled residents for almost two years and has become an issue on the presidential campaign trail.
“I don’t even know what kale tastes like, OK?” “So it’s gonna be hard”.
“Lead exposure can be…it can’t be cured but it can be overcome”, said Kildee.
“A lot of people think that’s a lot of money”, Kildee said.
In fact, the government is bringing in outsiders who have more credibility. “This is a time for all of MI to come together and work on solutions”. His legislation includes investments in infrastructure repairs, wrap-around services for families and children exposed to lead, economic development support for the city and long-term health monitoring for Flint families. He says they test trucks daily to ensure they’re working properly.
“The email seems to reflect someone summarizing a discussion at a meeting, and we are unsure what actually was said there”, Snyder Press Secretary Dave Murray told MLive.
“I’d say he’s wrong based on what he said and based on what I have in my hand”.
Susan Hedman, the EPA’s former regional chief, voiced concern to state and city officials over the next few months. “That must be fixed and it must be fixed now”, he said.
