Dark Souls Offered As Preorder Bonus For Xbone Owners
Microsoft has been pushing new games to their Xbox One Backwards Compatibility service at a very rapid pace over the last few weeks.
It has been reported that a leak reveals the original Dark Souls will be coming soon to Xbox One via the backwards compatibility feature.
Via Kotaku, an Australian digital preorder listing for Dark Souls 3 states that those who digitally preorder the game will receive a digital code for the first Dark Souls within 7 to 10 days.
Fans had hoped to see the return of Red Dead Redemption, which was accidentally made available on Xbox One before being removed again. In the lead up to the Dark Souls 3 release, it will be little things like this that are bound to get the fans attention. It’s growth has been steady until now, with Microsoft issuing new games monthly.
Dark Souls 3 is only months away, but now we also have a Dark Souls Backwards Compatibility rumour to spice things up. VG 24/7 is reporting that IO and Square want to work with Microsoft to bring Hitman: Absolution to the Xbox One as a backwards compatible title. That’s not particularly surprising given its stance on rumors. As far as the timing goes for when gamers can expect it to appear on the One… that is supposedly up to Microsoft.
Xbox Live director of programming Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb broke the news about the new backward compatible titles on Twitter.
I’ve actually spent a good deal of time on the original Dark Souls. Placing a disc copy of Dark Souls into an Xbox One will unlock a digital download for users too.
