Cam Newton has ‘no apologies’ for actions after Super Bowl
The truth of the matter is I really still don’t want to talk to the media.
Super Bowl MVP Von Miller couldn’t resist making a joke at Denver teammate Peyton Manning’s expense Tuesday while appearing on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”.
“I’ve been on record to say I’m a sore loser, ” Newton said.
“I don’t know about your family life Mr. Newton, but I think I’m safe in saying thousands of kids watch you every week”, she wrote.
“I get there and this guy comes up to me”, the 39-year-old National Football League star continued.
Newton said he believes the situation is being overblown by the media, and added he doesn’t plan to change how he reacts to losing just to appease his critics. “And I am my own person, and I take pride in that”. I said it since day one.
“If I offended somebody, that’s cool…but I know who I am”.
“However that decision is gonna go down, or when it will go down, I’m very much at peace about it”, said Manning.
Thousands lined the streets to toast the Denver Broncos as they returned victorious after their Super Bowl victory. Cam stated that “since you want to go tit for tat”, there have been other Super Bowl quarterbacks who have made similar mistakes during the game. Back before the Broncos kicked off the 2015 season against the Ravens, I wrote a piece on five predictions for the season. We did what a lot of people didn’t expect us to do. I fumbled. That’s fine. I understand who he is. However, nothing was said to the extent or critique that Newton has undergone since Sunday.
Newton apparently pursuing his fumble half-heartedly – with everything on the line – is the game’s defining moment.
And while Newton was sulking, Rivera was standing tall, pointing out the hard work his quarterback puts in and working hard to keep the focus on the future of his team, which is built to keep winning in the near future. “I think he had to rush out to do a Life Alert commercial”, Miller said. “Don’t take a snapshot-take the whole album”.
“Do I wish he had handled it better or differently? Yes. This is something that does not happen often for us, but the proper cap was given to Mr. Manning after he left the field”. “He picked up momentum and the bigger that the game got, the bigger he played”.
