Packers to play in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game
The 2016 Pro Football Hall of Fame Game will feature two teams – the Packers and Colts – with large fanbases and a lot of excitement surrounding the induction of some very notable names into Canton.
Participation in the Hall of Fame Game means the Colts will play five preseason games.
According to the Green Bay Packers website, the Pack will be playing at 7:00 p.m.at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio. Tony Dungy coached the Colts to a Super Bowl championship and Marvin Harrison was a prolific wide receiver for Indianapolis during a productive 13-year career.
The game will take place the day after Brett Favre is formally inducted in the Hall of Fame. The date for that tilt, along with the rest of the National Football League schedule, is expected to come out in April. It’s happened with Green Bay as recently as 2011 (Kansas City), and it also occurred in 2009 (Arizona).
The Colts will be making their fifth appearance in the Hall of Fame Game, and their first since a 30-16 loss to the Washington Redskins in 2008. The other was in 1980 vs. San Diego, which ended in a scoreless tie. Luck obviously missed over half of the 2015 season in what was a highly disappointing year for the Colts.
