Which led the actress to quickly backtrack, saying instead: ‘It rained a lot, ‘ before asking ‘Why can’t you say that?’.
“Oh, we should apologise – we can’t say things like that first thing in the morning”, said Shephard.
“We will have that debate another time otherwise we will get fired!”

Asked how she felt being questioned on her beauty regime – she is an ambassador for L’Oreal – Dame Helen replied: “It’s boring”.
“It’s boring… I don’t understand your fascination with it… And it is”, she added. “And it is”. We had our tent in the back and all our stuff, our little stove and everything. “The older I get, the more I realise there are no rules really, ultimately, we all have ways of living life and we impose rules upon ourselves all the time”.
