Microsoft announced its new Windows 10 smartphone at $199 – Microsoft Lumia 650
The release of the Lumia 650 marks Microsoft’s latest attempt to become a dominant player in the smartphone market. “Lumia 650 also features a highly polished, diamond cut and anodized aluminum frame, giving it an unparalleled and premium feel”, says Microsoft. Even few rumors also suggested the Lumia 650 will be the last smartphone under Lumia series to come with a 5-inch display. The Lumia 650 releases with a 13MP rear facing camera and a 5MP camera in the front.
GSMArena reported that the Lumia 650 will be sold at a price of €199.99 without contract in Ireland.
To recall, Microsoft was expected to launch the Lumia 650 back on February 1. Verizon is estimated at having around half of the business market, but like the Lumia 950 and 950XL before it, the 650 does not have the right CDMA support for use on Verizon’s legacy 2G and 3G networks. As such, the Lumia 650 is touted to “work seamlessly with your company’s Microsoft IT platforms”. Apart from its thin (6.9mm) and light (122 g) body, the Lumia 650 is pre-installed with Microsoft Office, OneDrive, and Cortana, Microsoft’s own personal assistant.
There were rumours of a new Windows 10 Mobile handset from Microsoft in mid-January, and those rumours have now been confirmed. The device is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 and is clocked at 1.3GHz clubbed with 1GB of RAM.
Moving on, both Lumia 650 and 650 Dual SIM variant has same specification except the dual SIM slot on Lumia 650 Dual.
The Lumia 650 comes with a surprising amount of connectivity for a phone of its class, including NFC and LTE support.
One of the strongest business features of Microsoft’s recent Lumia line, though, has been the Display Dock, a feature that transforms the Windows 10 Mobile phone into a PC-like experience.
Rumours of a new high-end Windows smartphone led by Surface Chief Panos Panay sprung up late previous year.
