Anti-Beyonce Rally is Overwhelming Fail
Bringing some light to the situation, a hilarious sketch was broadcast on Saturday Night Live last night in the form of a movie trailer, titled “The Day Beyonce Turned Black”. “Say Her Name”, read the message atop the sign, playing off the hit Destiny’s Child single. “They had no warning”, begins the trailer.
One Twitter user blasted: “What is the National Football League thinking when they permit Beyonce to sing some race baiting rant at Super Bowl 50?” “I really wanted to talk to them and hear their side”. These comments grew into a group called “Proud of the Blues” appearing out of thin air to start planning an Anti-Beyonce protest.
The skit alludes to the one problem with this whole controversy. “It’s OK for Beyonce to have a stance, as long as she doesn’t cross a line”.
“I was offended by the lyrics and her philosophy and ideology”, he said. Bedunah soaked in her words and offered a thoughtful response. She definitely did not hold back! That is not for me to say.
“What is it? What’s wrong?” asks her concerned husband.
The announced anti-Beyonce protest Tuesday morning in front of the NFL Headquarters in NY was a bust. “Get into the ghetto, the ‘hood”.
News teams and bloggers gathered around the lone hater, ready to defend their Queen Bey, but quickly realized the anti-Beyoncé characters were craving at least 15 minutes of fame.
I agree that the first step to this is acknowledgement, but the second step, which is so often skipped, is following through and finding a solution. “So, white people we’re [immigrating] the Panthers too, so you don’t have to be afraid anymore”.
In the video, we see news reports taking about Beyonce’s new song, with some reports stating that Beyonce was “embracing her black heritage”. OK, we also took the bait.
