Nintendo Miitomo Website & Preregistration Are Now Live
Those who create their Nintendo Account before the launch of Miitomo will also receive Platinum Points for the new My Nintendo rewards programme, which will launch simultaneously with Miitomo.
At present, the account functions are limited to establishing a nickname and linking social accounts, but there are references to “mission status” being lost if the account is closed. Nintendo Account is a new multi-platform account system introduced by the company to improve user experience and make content and features more accessible.
Miitomo enables users to interact with each other through their Nintendo Mii avatars.
Nintendo revealed recently that its first app for iPhone and Android devices will be coming in March and that, rather than a game, it is a fun and friendly communications application. As promised, you can either create a new account, or sign in with your existing Nintendo ID, Facebook, Twitter, or Google Plus login. Miitomo will then create discussions by asking users to answer all kinds of questions. There’s also a point program system, similar to Club Nintendo.
Mii characters can be personalised with shorts, trousers, socks, shirts, shoes, hats and all manner of accessories. If they want to go further in expressing themselves, they can even dress up in a variety of outlandish costumes, such as a bear costume, pirate costume, hot dog costume and more. Users can also easily take and share photos featuring their Mii with the Miifoto feature.
You can personalise your Mii in hundreds of ways, with coins earned by playing the app (but also available for purchase). The first app to launch – Miitomo – arrives in March, but you can pre-register for access as of today.
