Teen charged with impersonating a doctor released on bail
The latest investigation began in early February after the Florida Department of Health and the Palm Beach Narcotics Task Force received a complaint about a person practicing medicine without a license.
A South Florida teen was arrested Tuesday and charged with practicing medicine without a license after allegedly setting up a fake medical practice and passing himself off as having a Ph.D.
Love-Robinson is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail on $6,000 bail. The undercover was reportedly seen by Love-Robinson who took her temperature, listened to her lungs and assured her that she was not sick. After the agent was treated, Love-Robinson was arrested, deputies said.
The clinic’s website, NBNLMedicalCenter.com, offers a number of information on the fake operations, including a holistic care program from a staff of “Alternative Medical Professionals” who will work for patients’ “medical needs in all stages of life”. No charges were filed after it was determined that he did not enter patients’ rooms or perform medical procedures. Police says the teen was dressed in a St. Mary’s lab coat and was wearing a stethoscope and face mask. He has also been served a cease-and-desist order.
It goes on to say that he ‘utilizes physiological, psychological, and mechanical methods.’ These methods apparently include ‘air, water, light, heat, earth’.
Investigators believe that instead, he stole her checks and has been cashing them around town.
Love-Robinson was first caught in January 2015 masquerading as a doctor at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
This isn’t the first time the teen has done something like this. According to its website, a Dr. Malachi Love-Robinson is listed as the president, founder and CEO.
“He’s not out doing drugs, he’s not out trying to rob nobody”, Robinson said.
“Well once he opened up the office and the practice I felt like it was something legit that he’s trying to do”, said McKenzie.
