Spanish police: shooting in Barcelona, 1 wounded
Multiple people were injured Tuesday after two men opened fire on guests at a hotel in Barcelona, Spain.
A gunman has opened fire outside a hotel in the Spanish city of Barcelona, injuring two people.
The hotel is situated on Pintor Fortuny street, just off the city’s popular boulevard La Rambla.
La Vanguardia newspaper said at least one person sustained serious injuries, while several people received bullet and stab wounds.
El Mundo paper reported, the shooting was allegedly preceded by an attempted robbery of a foreign tourist. La Vanguardia reported that some witnesses said there was a commotion inside the hotel and others point to a possible kidnap attempt, though that claim could not be verified.
A regional police official said that police are as yet unable to say what the motive for the shooting was.
Police are investigating the cause of the incident and are searching for the suspects, one of whom was reportedly injured.
