Syria’s Assad doesn’t see ceasefire possible within a week
Speaking to families of Iranians killed in Syria fighting for Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, the Iranian regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said if his regime had not gone overseas to “fight the enemy”, it would have to fight them inside Iran. The deal was announced on February 12 with an implementation date of one week later. Ok, then who is capable of bringing together all these conditions within a week? Who, as they say, will bomb them?
“Until now, we hear about them requesting a ceasefire within a week. Practically, talking (about a ceasefire) is hard”, the Syrian president said.
The President affirmed that there are many questions now about who are terrorists, they talk about ISIS, al-Nusra, Ahrar al-Cham or Jaish al-Islam, saying “As a state, anyone who bears weapon against the State and against the Syrian people is terrorist, and this is indisputable”.
“We can only stop working with the current constitution if we agree, in dialogue, to a new one that the Syrians vote on”, he said.
Jean-Marc Ayrault said Monday that attacks like these, in which six patients and a hospital employee were killed, are “unacceptable and must stop immediately”.
An offensive supported by Russian bombing and Iranian-backed Shi’ite militias has brought the Syrian army to within 25 km (15 miles) of Turkey’s frontier.
Turkey on Monday accused Russian Federation of an “obvious war crime” after missile attacks in northern Syria killed scores of people, and warned Kurdish militia fighters there they would face the “harshest reaction” if they tried to capture a town near the Turkish border.
A United Nations spokesman called the strikes a “blatant violation of worldwide laws”, France and Turkey labeled them war crimes, and Britain said they could amount to war crimes and must be investigated.
Doctors Without Borders said a hospital it funds in Maarat al-Numan, in Idlib province, was hit by four rockets in attacks that were minutes apart, killing seven people and leaving eight staff members missing and presumed dead.
