Big Ang Last Rites Read: Mob Wives Angela Raiola Dying in Hospital?
“Mobwives” star Angela “Big Ang” Raiola is still alive and surrounded by family members at a Manhattan hospital despite multiple reports saying she died according to a statement from a rep.
While some sources are reporting that Big Ang has already passed away, the VH1 reality star’s family and friends are denying the rumors.
This past December, however, she was stunned to learn she had stage IV brain and lung cancer.
The Mob Wives star, real name Angela Raiola, admitted she has been feeling depressed, although at times, “I feel I’m gonna be fine”.
Raiolo said she was twice declared cancer-free, only to see it return and spread. Her exact words were: “I feel now it’s too late, bye, I rather be by myself”.
Big Ang and her husband of six years, Neil Murphy, have called it quits. “My daughter lives with me with her kids and her husband, so I’m very close to my grandchildren”. I don’t need it. So, I’d rather be alone. The same month, she underwent surgery to have the tumor removed and underwent the same surgical procedure in June on the right side of her throat. Reached by phone, her sister Janine Detore said Ang was not well.
After gaining celebrity on Mob Wives, she got her own short-lived spin-off series, Big Ang and Miami Monkey.
Doctors have given the “Mob Wives” fixture a 30 percent chance of survival.
A cigarette smoker for 40 years, Raiola told the Daily News last year that she stopped immediately after her first cancer diagnosis last March.
Big Ang announced her cancer had returned at the beginning of January when she debuted her newly shorn hair in preparation for more chemotherapy.
