A New Game Allows You To Live Out Leonardo DiCaprio’s Oscar Woes
You – yes, you – might be the key to helping Leonardo DiCaprio finally win an Oscar – in a video game, of course.
Plenty of mini-games await between each round: you can pen your own acceptance speech or attempt the (actually impossible) task of finding the black nominee.
As you try to improve your score through the game you can collect BAFTAs, SAGs, Golden Globes, Emmys and even MTV Movie Awards.
2006: In “Blood Diamond”, DiCaprio played Rhodesian diamond smuggler Danny Archer, an antiheroic character who helped the actor earn a third Oscar nomination. The Revenant, a 19th-century thriller starring DiCaprio as the lead along with Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson, and Will Poulter is slated for release in India on February 26.
With the help of letters G and H, you help DiCaprio run his little animated legs down the red carpet, while jumping over paparazzi, gaining coins and other awards, as the Oscar races to the finish line.
The video game is relatively tame, so if you aren’t normally a gamer, you can still get by as it isn’t the most sophisticated video game out there.
Illustrating this is the new game “Leo’s Red Carpet Rampage” which lets players take the role of Leo has he races down the red carpet in his journey to snag the Oscar.
If things don’t go as expected, at least Leo can peacefully bask in the knowledge that fans have been rooting for him to come out victorious. These bonus rounds feature having to make Leo crawl to his auto from the infamous quaaludes scene from Wolf of Wall Street. Enough to the point that Leo’s thirst for an Oscar has become a recurring joke in some rather wide circles of the Internet, his apparent desperation for Academy gold evident in the flashy, demanding roles that DiCaprio takes on.
