Ryan Reynolds in talks for Mars thriller ‘Life’ from ‘Deadpool’ writers
His resume is littered with expensive stinkers that might’ve sunk a less talented or less charismatic actor, from X-Men Origins: Wolverine to Green Lantern to R.I.P.D.
This will reunite Reynolds and Deadpool screenwriters Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, who will pen the script for Life. Talks about a “Deadpool” sequel are already happening while the writing duo are working on the script.
Should the deal go through, this would not be the only future project that Reynolds will do with Wernick and Reese. Joe: Retaliation, is described as a “big-scale film” about a crew aboard the International Space Station. Skydance’s David Ellison and Dana Goldberg will produce with Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn.
It’s safe to say that Ryan Reynolds had a very happy Valentine’s Day weekend this year, with his long-in-the-making Deadpool debuting to record-setting numbers. Deadpool earned a whopping $282.1 million against a budget of $58 million, making it both the biggest film of 2016 and the biggest opening ever for an R-rated film.
The part would be like a giant reunion for Reynolds.
Deadline reports that Reynolds has joined the cast for the sci-fi project “Life”, for which Rebecca Ferguson is slated to star.
