Jeb Chest Bumps George Another Awkward Campaign Moment
Cruz blasted Trump for his past campaign contributions to candidates like former President Jimmy Carter, former secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden, whose names were listed on a chart among the other Democrats Trump has donated to.
Ms Haley said: “Ladies and gentlemen, if we elect Marco Rubio, every day will be a great day in America”.
Haley remained on the sidelines up until Wednesday.
Trump later told supporters during a campaign event in Walterboro, South Carolina, on Wednesday that Cruz “stole” the caucuses, calling his actions “a disgrace”.
“I wanted somebody with fight, I wanted somebody with passion, I wanted somebody who had conviction to do the right thing”, she told a crowd of hundreds gathered for Rubio’s outdoor rally in Chapin, South Carolina. Picked to deliver the Republican Party response to President Obama’s State of the Union address in January, Haley, the daughter of Indian immigrants, used the opportunity to chastise Trump’s brand of politics, urging Republicans to resist the “siren call of the angriest voices”.
The angriest voice in the Republican race on Wednesday was not Mr Trump’s, but Mr Cruz’s.
McInturff added, “So, one poll post-Saturday debate can only reflect there may have been a “pause” as Republican voters take another look at Trump”.
The real estate tycoon has support of 39 percent of Republican voters, his highest total so far, and is followed by Senator Marco Rubio of Florida with 19 percent, who is nearly locked in a tie with Senator Ted Cruz of Texas with 18 percent, said the Quinnipiac University National Poll. In a hypothetical one on one, Cruz would beat Trump 56 to 40 percent, and Rubio would beat Trump 57 to 41 percent.
“So Donald, I would encourage you if you want to file a lawsuit challenging this ad, claiming it is defamation, file the lawsuit”, Cruz said.
Big news out of SC.
Appearing in his own town hall on MSNBC, Trump slammed Cruz as “a nasty guy”.
The super-PAC backing Ohio Gov. John Kasich is countering an attack ad from Jeb Bush’s counterpart with a new TV commercial in SC featuring southerner Newt Gingrich. “I confess, I laughed out loud”, Cruz said. Trump said during a forum on MSNBC that he would make upholding the Heller decision a litmus test for Supreme Court nominees.
Rubio, trying to rebound in SC after a disappointing fifth-place finish in the New Hampshire primary, again accused Cruz of dishonesty about the Florida senator’s position on amnesty for illegal immigrats.
