“Neerja” is all set to hit the theatres on February 19. She was awarded the Ashok Chakra for saving several hundred lives as an air hostess on the hijacked Pan Am Flight 73 in 1986.

On Monday night, the movie Neerja had a special screening of many Bollywood celebrities and after that, they took to Twitter for appreciating the movie.

The flight was hijacked by four heavily-armed terrorists, who were dressed as airport security guards, and entered the aircraft while firing shots from an automatic weapon and seized control of the plane. She also tries to quell Pakistan’s fear of being shown in bad light by saying, “She saved Pakistani lives, and I can guarantee that Pakistan hasn’t been shown in a poor light, I really hope and pray #Neerja releases”.

Singer-composer Shekhar Ravjiani, half of the “Vishal-Shekhar” duo makes his acting debut as Neerja Bhanot’s love interest in upcoming film “Neerja” by Ram Madhvani. She said, “I had the good fortune of meeting her a year before the film was offered to me”.

“Despite the low budget, she did the film”.

As seen in the trailer and songs, the mother-daughter bond between Sonam Kapoor and Shabana Azmi is crucial to the plot of the film. It is an inspiring film”, Aamir said. “The biggest fear is about family… when my family… wife, kids and parents go out, I do get tensed”.
