Ryan Reynolds in talks for Mars mission film
Deadpool star Reynolds read out questions from “fans” including one from a “man” named Blake Lively.
Hilariously, Reynolds’ questions had nothing to with Jackman’s latest film and nearly everything to do with X-Men Origins: Wolverine, a film which didn’t work out so well for reasons Reynolds is clearly still sore about.
Boasting an opening weekend haul of over $130 million, the success of the Merc With a Mouth’s standalone feature has caused everyone to stand up and take notice – particularly top brass at 20th Century Fox. According to Gamespot, Reynold’s raunchy superhero flick is proclaimed the biggest R-rated opening weekend of all time in North America, earning more than $137 million and even gaining the praise of critics and audiences alike. He said, “I can’t tell you in the last 10 years how many 11, 13, 15 year olds, 17 year olds that I’ve met that it’s not just ‘cool movie, man, ‘ what it means to them”.
Jeff Bock, senior analyst at Exhibitor Relations, said that this would be a good move for Fox because “we’ve seen just about everything else “Wolverine” has to offer”. While that was ultimately successful, it seems far less likely that Deadpool’s going to get a call to host. “I think the action and the humor is what appeals to women, you know, the same thing”.
Jackman actually portrays coach Bronson Peary in the movie about much-maligned English ski jumper Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards.
He also revealed how the “Deadpool” team discovered that women enjoyed the film in its early stages.
Plus, Wolverine 3 will be the actor’s final stint as the mutant – so, what better send off than seeing him claw his way through an R rated film?
Wolverine 3 is now set to release on March 3rd, 2017.
