Judge Rules Against Kesha In Abuse Case
The “Tik Tok” star first went public with her abuse allegations against Dr. Luke in 2014, when she filed a claim stating that her former producer had “sexually, physically, verbally, and emotionally abused” her.
Dr. Luke has said the claims are “blatant extortion”.
“She does not have to have any interface at all with Mr. Gottwald in recording or producing”, Kornreich added.
Kesha will face the music in court on Friday as her lawsuit against her producer Dr Luke is finally heard.
The group has created a petition in support of Kesha and demanding that Sony voluntarily allow her out of her contract. While Sony claims they gave Kesha the opportunity to record without Dr. Luke’s involvement, her lawyers stated that even then they would be setting her up to fail, as they wouldn’t promote their music. He denies the sexual abuse and attributes her action to becoming frustrated by a stalled career.
Unfortunately, as has been the protocol with many court cases similar to this one, her request was not initially met and Dr. Luke eventually countersued Kesha for extortion.
“There has been no showing of irreparable harm”, the judge said. “I am so grateful”, she wrote.
“I did this because the truth was eating away my soul and killing me from the inside. I had to tell the truth.so the outcome will be what it will be. there’s nothing left I can do.it’s just so scary to have zero control in your fate. but this is my path this life for whatever reason….” Why people just make sh*t up is incredible 2 me’.
In early February, a New York judge dismissed a lawsuit between Dr. Luke and Kesha’s mother, but today, a New York Judge denied Kesha’s injunction.
