ARCHOS Announce Diamond 2 Plus & Diamond 2 Note Smartphones
In the rear is a 20.7-megapixel Sony sensor camera with laser autofocus while the front has an 8-megapixel selfie snapper. A little over a week ago, ARCHOS confirmed one of their new smartphones will be the ARCHOS 50d Oxygen and this was then followed by a further announcement this week about the launch of three new tablets which will join the Oxygen line up.
It is powered by a MediaTek Helio P10 Octa-Core processor with Mali-T860MP2 as GPU.
With MWC just around the corner, you can expect a number of new smartphones and other mobile-related devices to be announced. Also on board are 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal memory, a USB Type-C port, and a 3000 mAh battery with quick charge support. The low price combined with the 64GB storage and solid features make this an attractive Android phone. There’s no mention of microSD card slot, but let’s hope it comes with one. At the back, the Diamond 2 Note features a 16MP shooter with support for recording videos at up to 4K resolution at 30fps.
The larger Diamond 2 Note, meanwhile, comes with a 6-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440, a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6795 Helio X10 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The Diamond 2 Note and Diamond 2 Plus will be available in May for $279 and $229, respectively, in the US, Canada, and Europe (via Archos’ official website). Both devices will be available in European markets starting in May. Also featured is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with wide angle sensor and front-facing flash. Both devices will however be on show at MWC next week.
The Diamond 2 Plus is backed by a non-removable 3000mAh Li-ion battery with fast charging capabilities.
