HBO releases second ‘Ferrell Takes The Field’ trailer
Ferrell, a comedian, decided to attempt to play all 10 positions, each with a different team, during the Cactus League in spring training in Arizona.
Will Ferrell never met a sport he didn’t want to make a movie out of, but after tackling soccer, auto racing, figure skating, and basketball, the SNL alum is finishing his half-decathlon of sports comedies with an unexpected twist: a documentary. “I brought passion to the field, dedication, ability and a lot of ignorance”. The trailer depicts the actor on various fields throwing pitches, batting and, at one point, holding a sign calling out a player for his good looks.
In case you need any other reason to watch it, the comedy special is going to raise money for cancer-fighting charities. “We say nothing’s more American than grabbing a hot dog, heading to the ballpark and watching nine guys from the Dominican Republic make magic on the field”, he says.
The one-hour show will debut at 10 p.m. on September 12, but HBO just released a 90-second promotional trailer. “Now], 8 Dominicans and 1 guy from Irvine, California”.
