Polar bear spends Valentine’s Day with true love: Ice cake
The facility shared a clip via its Facebook page Friday last week, as noted by Time, in celebration of Polar Bear Month in February.
A three-month-old polar bear cub got her first taste of snow, and it’s absolutely adorable. She smelled, touched, and looked at the snow with wide-eyed wonder, which can be a thrill to watch.
She now weighs 7.5 kg and is feeding five times a day, still receiving formula with meat slowly being added to her diet.
The curious cub appears fascinated with the snow and seems to enjoy frolicking in her first winter wonderland.
The director of the NC Zoo said in January that officials hope the two will eventually breed.
She was tentative at first..
The Zoo posted a video of the two hanging out together.
We often see polar bears in the snow, but it’s not often we get to see their first glimpse of it. Kids made Valentine’s Day cards and delivered them to the animals, and could feel the difference between the pelts of a polar bear, lynx, red fox and wolf.
