Microsoft Lumia 950 Review: Could It Be A Poor Windows 10 Device?

Microsoft’s Windows 10 roll out has been going well, primarily driven by free upgrades for existing devices.

The phone runs the Windows 10 Mobile OS, and has a new and improved camera too, as the Lumia 650 has 13mP of primary camera along with a 5MP front cam.

As the Department of Defense upgrades, it has the option of incorporating some of Windows 10’s security features, said Yusuf Mehdi, corporate vice president of Microsoft’s Windows and Devices Group, in a blog post.

The move is a big boost to Microsoft’s efforts to get more customers on its latest operating system.

Windows 10 has several new security features, including Windows Hello – a biometric security system that’s embedded in the operating system. The Lumia 650 will have Windows 10 Mobile as its OS, much like the high-end Lumia 950 and Lumia 9 50 XL before it, and the low-end Lumia 550 as well.

The U.S. Department of Defense plans to bring Windows 10 to 4 million devices by February 2017. Theoretically, the same process that governed Windows Phone 8.1 updates will govern the update to Windows 10 Mobile. The universal app system allows applications written for Windows 10 on a PC to be easily ported to Windows 10 Mobile devices.

A new Knowledge Base update, specifically KB3140742, can take your Windows 10 installation to the next level, or it could potentially cause you endless problems. The minimum requirements for connectivity include Bluetooth 4.0, supports for Wi-Fi 802.11n dual band and support for Windows 10 Miracast extensions along with USB 2.0.

However, at this price point, while one does not expect a really good processor, the phone does disappoint with a Snapdragon 212, as the users were expecting the Lumia 650 with a Snapdragon 410 at the least.

Lumia 650 has 16GB of storage capacity, which can be extended up to 200GB with a dedicated MicroSD card slot.
