Reading vs West Brom: FA Cup Preview & Prediction
Social media and everything else builds up an anti-feeling if things are not going well at football clubs. That’s criminal, and I mean criminal.
But despite their unconvincing displays so far in this cup competition, Tony Pulis’ side are unbeaten in seven FA Cup fixtures against lower league opposition since their ironic defeat to Reading back in 2011.
Darren Fletcher opened the scoring for West Brom in the 54th minute but Paul McShane levelled five minutes later before Michael Hector and Lucas Piazon netted to earn Reading a place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. “I just hope the police get involved, I think they have to get involved in this”. This has got to be one fo the worst things I’ve ever seen.
“We’ve seen an incident today where a lad who’s played over 300 games for this football club could have had his eye out and that’s just not acceptable”. I hope the police get involved, let alone the football club banning the supporter.
“That’s outrageous really, it’s not right and proper”, he said.
Meanwhile the Baggies, who lie eight points above the top-flight’s bottom three in 14th spot, narrowly edged past Championship side Bristol City and League One outfit Peterborough United after being taken to replays in both the third and fourth round respectively.
After a coin thrown from the West Brom fans struck Chris Brunt, Brian McDermott pledged Reading would find the culprit.
A club spokesman said: “The offender can expect the severest possible sanctions”.
Alan Shearer told the BBC: “It’s disgusting”.
“I think every club has this situation growing”. It wrestled away the game from us.
David Moyes also questioned why anything was thrown when Brunt looked like he was trying to apologise for the performance.
