Treatment by Manziel includes ear injury, ex-girlfriend asserts

At one point, Manziel hit her on the ear so bad that she couldn’t hear out of it for at least two days, she said.

Crowley chose not to press charges, but she did file for an order of protection against Manziel, which required her to describe the events of that night in a sworn affidavit. He was not charged or arrested.

Manziel was ruled out for Week 17’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers when the Browns said he arrived at practice on Wednesday complaining of concussion symptoms, apparently from the previous Sunday’s game.

Manziel is the subject of a criminal investigation into the alleged assault that took place in the early hours of January 30. “I believe that there is a clear and present danger that (Manziel) is likely to commit family violence against me if a protective order is not granted by this court”. He said that people on the team felt they could do anything and still get victories because Manziel had made that possible-along with five linemen who all ended up in the NFL.

Crowley claims the two had dinner at Victor Tango’s restaurant in Dallas with friends, then planned on staying with Manziel in his room at Hotel ZaZa.

“We planned to spend the night together in his room there”, Crowley said.

Manziel ran out of the apartment, she wrote.

“When we got to the valet, I was crying and begged the valet, “Please don’t let him take me”.

“Fearful for my life, I hit (Manziel) several times, hoping I could back out of the auto”, she said in the affidavit, adding Manziel “threw me off of him and I hit my head on the vehicle window and I fell into the passenger floorboard”. She said she opened her door and jumped out, trying to hide.

She says that he violently beat her and threatened to kill her. He hit her in her ear so badly, that she ruptured an eardrum and still can’t hear out of that ear. Manziel then allegedly forced her into his auto, later throwing her back in the vehicle after she escaped. “I just want to put this in perspective…” “I do not have direct knowledge of what Manziel may have told the doctor or what doctors who evaluated him, or what might have been suggested”.

Crowley went on to state she feared for both her life and Manziel’s based upon the way he was acting. She then went into her kitchen and got a knife. In a recent interview with TMZ, Manziel denied allegations that he struck Crowley, though he has not spoken at length about the matter.
