Alcatel + Windows = PLUS 10 hybrid laptop
The keyboard additionally lets you mirror your 4G connection with up to 15 different devices around you, using its built-in Wi-Fi hotspot function. This is achieved through the included 4G/Wi-Fi connected keyboard and through the multiple USB, microUSB and microHDMI ports that the PLUS 10 features, which is rare for devices in the category. At the right price, the Plus 10 could be a handy little device This might not be too much of an issue, as the inclusion of Windows 10 means that the Plus 10 is most likely to be used as a cheap way of working on the go. The PLUS 10 can be used in three “modes”, as Alcatel calls them. Next is the dock mode where you pull out the tablet and place it in the other direction to serve as an entertainment centre. Under the hood, it has an Intel Atom x5 Z8350 chipset with a 1.9GHz quad-core CPU and 2GB of RAM.
“PLUS 10 is ALCATEL’s first 2-in-1 device with Windows 10, and we’re very proud of all the functionality we’ve built into it”, Alcatel’s smart connectivity GM Vittorio Di Mauro explains. The device also comes with a dual battery system, with the tablet and the 4G LTE keyboard packing a total 8,410 mAh, allowing for usage of up to 8 hours. In addition, thanks to a special keyboard attachment, consumers can add an additional 2580mAh battery to help power the device through the day. Finally, while there’s no firm Canadian launch date, the Plus 10 is set to be available in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa in June 2016. The Plus 10 comes with front and rear cameras, and 32 GB of internal memory with an SD card slot for additional storage.
Travel companion: Exceptionally convenient to carry, PLUS 10 is compact and 40 percent lighter than an average laptop.
PLUS 10 will be available for sale in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa in June 2016.
