For Chinese all across the world, the Spring Festival highlights the festivities, celebrations and family reunions.
This collaboration has resulted in creating a Lunar New Year Brew: Moon Monkey Ale with Ginger, which will be unveiled at the Lunar Brew Tasting at Create Space from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12. These four extra days are taken from weekends: “the two weekend days closest to the statutory holiday are included, while the Saturday before (February 6, 2016) and the Sunday after (February 14, 2016) are worked”.
BEIJING-Chinese are flocking to temples and fairs to pray for good health and fortune on the first day of the Lunar New Year holiday.
The increasingly affluent Chinese are more willing to travel to other domestic places and overseas, making tourism a key sector powering economic growth. However, the practice is amplified during Chinese New Year, when, as per tradition, they are given to younger generations by their parents, grandparents and other relatives.
Bad weather conditions forced the celebrations to finish early, but there were still magical sights to behold as the party atmosphere took over the city centre. Lying on her back, 14-year-old Ying He spun drums, urns and even a card table with her feet. “It’s come full circle”, Vuong said.

The Japanese city of Yokohama, just south of Tokyo, has a vibrant Chinatown and plays host to one of the country’s largest Lunar New Year festivals.
“We do all these extra curricular activities, and it’s small but its like a family”, Dr. Luo says about the program. “Shou” is rightly on the list because of the food overload they went through during the Lunar New Year Eve dinner.
In Surubaya, Indonesia, Cai Shen Ye, god of wealth, also handed out red envelopes of money to devotees during the New Year’s celebrations at Hong San Ko Tee Temple.
