Nile Rodgers defends Lady Gaga’s Bowie tribute performance at the Grammys
DAVID BOWIE’s filmmaker son DUNCAN JONES appears to have taken a swipe at LADY GAGA following her epic tribute performance to the rock icon at Monday’s Grammy Awards.
Bowie’s son tweeted: “overexcited or irrational, typically as a result of infatuation or excessive enthusiasm; mentally confused”. Damn it! What IS that word!?
Director Duncan Jones attends the Cinema Society & Coach screeing of “Source Code” at the Crosby Street Hotel on March 31, 2011 in New York City.
Channelling Ziggy Stardust, Lady Gaga swaggered through an epic nine-song medley in honour of her hero, delivering an elaborate, emotional performance that reduced some audience members to tears.
“It’s cruel and mean spirited to attack lady gaga who gave her all to honor and entertain.#BeKind”, a Twitter user wrote.
– Samantha Kinzie (@SamanthaKinzie) February 16, 2016 Lady GaGa was such an excellent choice to tribute Bowie.
“When I fell in love with David Bowie, when I was living on the Lower East Side, I always felt that his glamor was something he was using to express a message to people that was very healing for their souls”, she said, according to Billboard. Duncan Jones said on Twitter.
“The first thing that I did was just put together my own mixtape of my favorite David Bowie songs”.
The 29-year-old pop superstar shocked crowds with an “impromptu” set with Brian Newman’s jazz band at the V Magazine Party which lasted 30 minutes.
“He is a true, true artist and I don’t know if I ever went ‘Oh, I’m going to be that way like this, ‘ or if I arrived upon it slowly, realizing it was my calling and that’s what drew me to him…”
The affection of Gaga to Bowie, who died last month at the age of 69 due to cancer, is known to most of us since the American Horror Story star is vocal about it, as previously reported by Music Times.
