Here’s when and where you’ll be able to buy the LG G5
Sprint today introduced new Better Choice rate plans that directly target Verizon’s plans that were launched late a year ago. The difference is that Sprint’s plans offer double (or more) the data at the same price.
Once customers reach their data allotment, they don’t face any overage charges, but will be slowed to 2G speeds, unless they choose to pay $15/GB for data after that point. By comparison, Verizon’s corresponding plans offer 3 GB, 6 GB, 12 GB and 18 GB, respectively, for the same costs.
Sprint on Thursday took a swipe at Verizon’s limited time data bump with the roll out of a new set of data rich “Better Value” plans.
Sprint’s previous plans were priced like this: $10 for 1GB, $30 for 2GB, $50 for 4GB, $70 for 8GB, $100 for 10GB, $120 for $40GB and $225 for 60GB.
The Sprint plans also include unlimited voice calling and text messaging while on the carrier’s network, the carrier’s Global Roaming service, unlimited text messaging from the U.S.to more than 180 countries and mobile hot spot service. The plans will continue to be available to existing customers but won’t be actively marketed to new customers. If you want more high-speed data, you’ll be able to buy it at a rate or $15 per gigabyte. The company, which employs hundreds at its Huntsville call center, also finished as the top provider in various RootMetrics criteria including network reliability, network speed, data performance, call performance and text performance.
