Where to buy the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge
Samsung unveiled the latest iterations of its flagship smartphones, the much anticipated Galaxy S7, and its sibling, the Galaxy S7 Edge, as well as a 360-degree camera phone aptly called Gear 360 at its Unpacked event at the 2016 Mobile World Congress.
Samsung on Sunday launched the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge ahead of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. He said some stuff about VR being the next platform, and Samsung’s sub-par Gear VR being really good, and definitely worth buying, and then using for bingeing on Facebook videos.
There are two new galaxies in this universe: the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.
First and foremost, it is worth mentioning that the Galaxy S7 has a significantly bigger battery than its predecessor, especially if you consider the fact that their display size is identical at 5.1-inches.
Samsung’s Gear VR has been available on the market for some time, but after a slow start, sales have picked up since it dropped the price before Christmas to $99 (£80) according to Samsung.
Samsung just announced the Galaxy S7 and, gee, there’s a lot to cover here.
Both also support faster wireless charging, with the Galaxy S7 taking 130 minutes to charge wirelessly and 95 minutes to charge using a wired connection.
You’ll naturally be able to watch the Gear 360’s videos through the Gear VR headset, which you’ll get for free if you pre-order the Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge. In the US, Europe and select other countries, customers that pre-order either of the devices will get a VR headset included.
In a press briefing with reporters last week, Samsung executives noted that many video industries in the past “really came to life with user-generated content”. The two phones look exactly similar to the S6 and the S6 Edge, although the S7 Edge comes with a bigger screen.
Both Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will be available starting mid-March this year.
Inside are two 180 degree cameras which can shoot images at up to 15 megapixel resolution.
