Woman, 106, dances with joy at meeting President Obama
When 106-year-old Virginia McLaurin met Barack Obama she was so excited she couldn’t contain herself – rolling back the years to bust out some dance moves.
McLaurin, who was born in 1906, first expressed her wish to meet Obama in 2014 while receiving a community service award for helping Sharpe School students with mental and physical disabilities.
“I didn’t think I’d live to see a black president”, McLaurin said.
She also posted a video on YouTube in December 2014 repeating the same, reports The Telegraph UK.
“Slow down now, don’t go so quick”, Mr Obama tells her as she dashes to meet Michelle before dancing with her.
The US first lady caught McLaurin’s infectious energy, telling the centenarian: “I wanna be like you when I grow up”.

“Well… You made my day”, McLaurin replied.
A greeter announced the 106-year-old SC native’s presence in the White House as she excitedly danced her way toward the Obamas to celebrate Black History Month. “Hi!” she said gleefully, dancing a little bit with her cane waving in the air.
