Chiefs safety Eric Berry returns to practice field
Reid also said on Tuesday that Pro Bowl nose tackle Dontari Poe had surgery on his back two weeks ago to fix a herniated disk. The Chiefs secondary leader was diagnosed with cancer in December 2014, particularly Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He was treated at Emory University in Atlanta and went through the final round of it in June.
Berry underwent several rounds of testing and other procedures to make sure he was medically able.
On a day when the overruled Tom Brady appeal was thought to be the storyline of the day, good news arose for football fans league wide, no matter what team you root for. “He’s really done a good job there”.
“Everything up to this point has been very positive from the doctor and from Eric, so I think we’re headed in the right direction”, Reid said.
This will be a huge morale boost for the Chiefs and for Berry as he gets to resume his playing career again after wondering if he would ever step on the field again.
Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid will address Berry’s playing status after the game, and Berry will hold a press conference at 1 p.m. on the campus of Missouri Western.
