Security is tight at Camille Cosby’s deposition
Bill Cosby’s wife of a half-century was set on Monday to face questioning by lawyers for seven women who accused the comedian of sex assault and sued him for defamation after a federal judge rejected her bid to avoid a deposition.
On Sunday night, a judge ruled against an emergency motion from Cosby’s lawyers to postpone her testimony.
NBC10 Legal Analyst Enrique Latoison weighs in on how Bill Cosby’s wife Camille can be forced to testify against her husband.
Camille Cosby is also her husband’s business manager, so prosecutors could press her for insight into how past allegations against Cosby were handled.
To no avail, apparently, because the morning passed with no one getting a good look at 71-year-old Camille Cosby.

The women allege that Bill Cosby defamed them by branding them as liars after they went public with allegations of sexual assault.
Lawyers claimed Camille Cosby does not have any relevant information in the case and her conversations with her husband are confidential.
“More than 50 women have come forward to accuse Bill Cosby of sexual assault”. She continues the deposition on March 14, but the location hasn’t been determined. In another case, a woman says Cosby took her to the Playboy Mansion when she was 15 and molested her.

Camille blasted the women’s attempt to depose her in the documents that were filed in January, arguing first that the law is very clear about a husband and wife not having to testify against another or share information from private conversations.
Now that the plaintiffs in the civil case against Cosby have succeeded in getting Camille Cosby deposed, both the civil and criminal complaints against Bill could be impacted. She has also no doubt been coached exquisitely, by a very well compensated team, on how to handle the thorniest of inquiries.
In addition to his wife’s deposition, Bill Cosby is undergoing his own defamation trials, as well as filing a lawsuit against one of his accusers.
