Texas no longer an ironclad certainty for Ted Cruz
Marco Rubio at 19 percent and Texas Sen.
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who announced on Saturday he was suspending his campaign after a fourth-place finish in sc, had been at 4 percent in the previous poll.
Ridge had supported Bush for president since early 2015 and campaigned with him in SC. And there is Sen.
Cruz fired his main spokesman, Rick Tyler, on Monday afternoon over a video that falsely showed Rubio dismissing the Bible. Trump is well on his way, and he knows it. “Folks, let’s go, let’s have a big win in Nevada, let’s have a big win in the SEC”, Trump said in his SC victory speech, referring to the states with universities in the Southeastern Conference that will vote next month.
But Cruz is not the candidate who fares best against Hillary.
Cruz, though, was back on offense Tuesday, accusing Trump of flip-flopping on issues and lacking a “core set of positions and beliefs”.
This illustrates the importance of this weekend’s SC primary and, more especially, the March 1 Super Tuesday contests where Mr Sanders believes he has a “good shot” of doing well in Colorado, Minnesota, Massachusetts and Oklahoma. “I see it more as Trump- Rubio”. He leads pre-caucus polls in Nevada, though such surveys have been off in previous elections.
In a normal election year we’d say someone who won the New Hampshire primaries by a yuuuuge margin and the SC primary by 10 points is the prohibitive front-runner.
“Now this race is getting narrower”, Rubio said in a Fox News interview on Sunday.
Finally, the American people got it right, and money didn’t help Bush.
Mr Trump continued to lash out at rival Ted Cruz, telling the crowd: “This guy is sick”.
“Seventy percent [of GOP voters] does not support [Trump]”, he said, adding that as the GOP field shrinks, “it’ll be easier and easier for this 70 percent to coalesce” around remaining contenders. Trump now has 67 delegates.
Bets are on him to win the Nevada caucus. Rubio, however, has yet to win a state.
“That means 65 percent of the party is against him”, Rubio said.
Gasbag wouldn’t. Unless you think a guy who specializes in racism and intimidation and just plain nastiness – in addition to no specifics – would make a great president. Donald Trump and me.
One prominent conservative pundit, Erick Erickson, said Monday he would never vote for Trump if he is the Republican nominee. He was also behind retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson in Colorado, though the only poll listed for that state was from November, when Carson soared to first place nationally.
