Dilip Kumar Acquitted in 18-Year-Old ‘Cheque Bounce’ Case

Veteran actor Dilip Kumar sahab, 94, has been keeping ill for a long time. The magistrate convicted S Seturaman and Gopalkrishna Rathi, directors of M/s Geekay Exim India Ltd, in the case.
Legendary actor Dilip Kumar has been pronounced “not guilty” by a Mumbai court in an 18-year-old case, allegedly about a bounced cheque. The company had reportedly raised millions from different lenders and had issued cheques for repayment of the same nearly 12 years back. In 1998, a complaint was filed against the company and 20 of its directors, including the actor, before the Girgaum magistrate court under section 141 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. In a series of tweets, the 73-year-old actress revealed that Dilip Kumar was suffering from “neurological problems”, but had sought adjournment of the case.
Magistrate BS Kharade acquitted the thespian of all charges. “Thank you to our just and esteemed judiciary n brilliant advocates, Sageer Khan, Manish Zohra who’ve toiled endlessly”. In 2015, he was honoured with the Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian award, for his contribution to cinema.
“When the court gave the verdict, there was no one present from the complainant’s side or Dilip Kumar’s side”, Shah said. Earlier, in the day wife Saira Banu tweeted about the same and expressed her concern over the actor’s health. Saab needs peace n rest.
