Michigan Senate approves $30 million for Flint water bills
(CNN)In early 2015, dirty water in Flint, Michigan, was being tested for lead, two lawsuits were challenging rate increases, and now a study finds residents were then paying the highest water bills of 500 communities surveyed nationwide, according to a nonprofit advocacy group. The state House approved a measure last week that would send $30 million to Flint, and Snyder pledged an additional $2 million.
Rick Snyder is expected to sign the bill in the coming days.
Weaver said her research suggests an estimated 8,000 Flint homes and businesses are being fed with lead pipe and revealed their latest mapping on where the pipes are.

State environmental protection officials failed to ensure proper corrosion control treatments were added to the harsh water, which leached lead from aging pipes into homes. He said they’ll come soon – but has not given a specific date and time.
