Michael B. Jordan to star in The Thomas Crown Affair remake
But MGM is very satisfied with how things turned out with “Creed”, and the American media company has the intention of developing a vehicle around Michael B. Jordan. THR reports that Michael B. Jordan is hoping to star in a new version of the story, with MGM backing the film. MGM has no comments about the project yet. While he starred in the panned Fantastic Four, Creed, the reboot of Rocky, proved to be major hit, grossing $109 million domestically on a budget of $35 million.
No matter what you or any other humble moviegoer thinks, another remake of the Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway classic is on the way.
It is unclear who Jordan would play in the project at this time, though all signs point to Crown. The investigator on the case (Dunaway) tries to find him and the two have an affair. And if you’re thinking that the film was remade not too long ago, you’re right: Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo starred in a well-received adaptation of the original back in 1999.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the “Fruitvale Station” actor is expected to play the lead role in the revamped version.
Jordan is repped by WME, MGMT Management and Bloom Hergott.
