Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer & Amiibo Scanner Release Dates Announced

The cover plates hit stores to coincide with Series 1 of the Animal Crossing amiibo Card Packs and Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer.

Earlier this month, Nintendo revealed a number of of the primary batch of Animal Crossing’s “amiibo buying and selling playing cards”.

Nintendo’s NFC Reader/Writer accessory will be released in Europe on October 2. A full list including prices is available below. Focusing on the decorating and home-design aspects of the Animal Crossing games, players will be tasked with designing houses for animals which meet their requests.

The device requires two AA batteries, but works wirelessly and does not need to be plugged into the handheld.

Nintendo fans in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand will get the chance to design homes for their favorite Animal Crossing characters on a brand-new Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer edition New 3DS XL or a white New 3DS system with an exclusive set of Animal Crossing cover plates.

“Additional amiibo cards will be sold separately in packs of three”. New 3DS and New 3DS XL systems have this feature built in. Go beyond home decor and try your hand at bigger projects like a school or a café and assign unexpected roles to some of your favourite animal friends.
