Family kicked off flight over son’s allergies arrives home
A 7-year-old boy was reduced to tears when fellow airline passengers applauded as he was kicked off a flight due to his allergies, according to his outraged mother.
The family told KING-TV that Giovanni began scratching all over and after 90 minutes the family were removed from the flight.
After deplaning, Fabian-Roman and her family were told they would be allowed to take the next Allegiant flight to Phoenix on Wednesday.
Fabian-Roman said her son apologized to his family after they stepped off the plane. They came back later to ask Alvarado and his family to get off the plane.
A kid who was on his way home to Phoenix after an especially meaningful trip to Bellingham, Wash., with his father, who has been diagnosed with terminal stage-4 cancer.
Allegiant Air has apologized to the family. “So we informed the flight attendant, who informed us that there’s dogs on every flight and just smirked… which minimized his experience for me”.
“As a dad, I was just hopeless right there”, Alvarado said. This delayed the flight as the family gathered their things.
“That made me really sadder when I was already sad”.
“I was just like, ‘Man, let’s get out of here, ‘” Alvarado said.
George Alvarado said the passengers’ behavior left him shaking his head. When the family made a decision to get off the plane, the remaining passengers started to applause, feeling relieved by the fact that they were going to proceed with their flight without being disturbed by a sick child.
“We understood”, Fabian said. “The people toward the back of the plane clapped”.
He said: ‘I am sad that this has to be a memory with my dad, ‘ adding that people who do not have sadness in their lives simply do not understand. He also had this reminder: “You don’t know how much time people have or why they are hurting”.
“Allegiant is in direct contact with this family and have offered them our honest apologies with regard to their negative experience”, the company said in a statement.
His father George turned it into a learning moment saying, just be nice and just be kind.
