Marvel has cast Game of Thrones’ Finn Jones as Iron Fist
Marvels Netflix properties have become a microcosm of the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel’s Iron Fist is the last of Netflix’s originally announced hero series to take shape, following Daredevil (which releases Season 2 on March 18), Jessica Jones(which recently scored a Season 2 pickup) and Luke Cage (starring Mike Colter). Heir to the Rand Corporation, Danny uses his family’s wealth to help the poor in New York City. As an adult, Rand returns to his native NY and begins a career as a superhero.
The man at the center of the speculation is Finn Jones, who has appeared in 17 episodes of Game of Thrones so far as Ser Loras Tyrell.
News fans have been waiting on for some time has finally been answered as Entertainment Weekly has revealed that Finn Jones will be playing Danny Rand in the upcoming Iron Fist series on Netflix.
The source that leaked the information also accurately reported the casting of Natalia Cordova-Buckley as Slingshot on Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.so theres at least some degree of credibility to these rumors.
From Knight of Flowers to Hero for Hire.
Scott Buck previously signed on as showrunner and executive producer for Marvel’s Iron Fist.
Netflix has yet to comment on the casting rumors. But although a fourth superhero standalone series, “Iron Fist”, has been in development for more than a year, the studio has yet to cast an actor in the lead role.
