Lotus Evora Sport 410 sheds 154 pounds
Lotus was able to shed some weight by replacing many components with carbon-fibre ones, including the front splitter, roof panel, tailgate, rear diffuser as well as race-derived sports seats and a revised front access panel. The Evora Sport 410 is a product of the Lotus Lightweight Laboratory. Set to arrive this summer is the new Lotus Evora Sport 410, which is even lighter and more powerful than the Evora 400 coupe and roadster that debuted previous year. With the optional Michelin Cup 2 tires, the Sport 410 is said to lap its home track in Hethel three seconds quicker than the Evora 400. The tailgate’s louvered-style treatment is just one of the 410’s most noticeable visual markers.
Lotus’ engineers have also fiddled around with the suspension by improving its geometry and overhauling the damping while the ride height has decreased by 5 mm. As a result, handling is sharper, along with better body and roll control, yet ride comfort and composure is retained. Buyers can also opt for a paddle-shifted automatic transmission.
The Lotus Evora Sport 410 has a manual gearbox and a low inertia flywheel with a limited slip differential. Proportionally increasing throttle response, lowering traction slip thresholds and removing understeer recognition, it allows enhanced control before the system intervenes.
On the inside, the Sport 410 comes lined with the lovely and addictive suede-like material that is known as alcantara and also some solid-looking sport seats to keep the car’s occupants well-bolstered when on track. There’s also a touch-screen with iPod and Bluetooth connectivity, but you don’t get arm rests on the door or storage pockets, nor speakers if an entertainment system is not specified. Combining traditional British craftsmanship with modern design, the service inspires customers to spend time tailoring the character of their Lotus with a comprehensive array of options.
Only 150 will be built, according to Lotus, available in all major markets (except the U.S.) in June 2016. Later in 2016, Lotus says it will announce a special version of the new Evora that will be coming to North America.
