Former Mexican president blasts Trump, says he will not pay for wall
“I declare: I’m not going to pay for that f***ing wall”, Fox said.
Trump quickly hit back on Twitter, writing: “Vicente Fox horribly used the F word when discussing the wall”.
Trump frequently promises to build a wall between the US and Mexico and have Mexico pay for it. He argues that he can force He antagonized Mexico early in his campaign by saying that the country is sending “criminals” and “racists” over the border. I’d like to know who those Hispanics are, because they’re followers of a false prophet. And he’s going to take them to the desert, and if they think that they will benefit with an administration led by Donald Trump, they’re wrong.
Asked if he’s concerned that Trump will become the next USA president, Fox replied: “Not at all”. Fox was president of Mexico from 2000 to 2006.
“He must apologize!” Trump tweeted. It is not to defend our race, it is to defend this very same nation that is hosting you. Felipe Calderón was just as blunt: “We are not going to pay any single cent for such a stupid wall!” he said this month.
Mr Trump, meanwhile, continues to hold a wide margin of support among Republican voters. “This nation is going to fail if it falls into the hands of a insane man”.
“I just want you to know, Mr President, that the most heated rhetoric you’ve heard from some of the competitors for the nomination for president, is not who we are as the American people…” Mexico’s current president is Enrique Pena Nieto.
Trump insists that he’s such a good negotiator that he’ll wrangle Mexico into doing his bidding – and then the country will pay for the wall. But both senators, who are Trump’s closest competitors, have taken a hard stance on the issue.
