Senator on GOP backing Trump: ‘Party has gone batshit crazy’
Lindsey Graham prepares for the CNN Republican Presidential Debate in Simi Valley, California on September 16, 2015.
In closing, Graham declared himself the Dr. Jack Kevorkian of the GOP presidential campaign, referring to the euthanasia activist who died in 2011.
Graham also had some choice words for his fellow senator and White House candidate Ted Cruz, who is not exactly known for the support he generates among others in the chamber. “A good Republican would defend Ted Cruz”, the South Carolina Republican said, pausing for effect.
“I ran for president and I had to get out”, Graham said.
Meanwhile, Mr Carson has told various versions of the story about his volatile teenage years, when he allegedly tried to stab a classmate, a friend, or maybe even a cousin, as reported by The Daily Beast. “He’s the one we all like”.
T Trump took some damage Thursday night, particularly from Rubio, but probably not enough to change the calculus. He stated that he’s not happy with the state of the country or his party right now.
Ask him harder questions. “And I don’t mean to turn a amusing thing into a serious thing”. But he did have a number of solemn moments, particularly when expressing his belief that the Republicans can not beat the Democrats in November, especially given the current tack of things with respect to the GOP. “I don’t think he knows what makes America great”, he said. In 2012, Romney finally released his tax returns after much pressure.
“How could that be?” he said. “My party has gone bats- crazy”, he said to a room full of members of Congress and the media.
“I think he’s going to lose, he’s going to lose badly”.
Graham also roasted the Democratic field.
Myrtle Beach is a popular resort and tourist destination in South Carolina, Graham’s home state, and the city is hosting a Canadian-American Days festival beginning March 12.
“But I will say our Canadian is better than your [Democrats”] Kenyan, ‘ Graham added, drawing jeers from the crowd with his “birther” dig at President Barack Obama. Rubio is 44, a year younger than Cruz.
“I’m not sure he ever came back”, Graham quipped.
He also made fun of Cruz’s upbringing in Canada, where he was born – which Donald Trump has argued disqualifies him from the high office.
