Chris Christie endorses Donald Trump for president
Republican front-runner Donald Trump leads Florida Sen. Rubio pointed to remarks in Thursday night’s debate in which Trump defended the services provided by Planned Parenthood to women suffering from different types of cancer, and stated that he would remain neutral in negotiations between the Israelis and Palestinians.
He said Mr Trump had “one of those little sweat moustaches”, and that he had asked for a full-length mirror, “maybe to make sure that his trousers weren’t wet”. Ted Cruz. “Cruz lies, but at least it’s reasonable lies”.
Trump later thanked Christie for his well-known evisceration of Rubio earlier this month during a New Hampshire Republican debate, in which Rubio responded to Christie’s attacks by repeating the same canned line.
But Rubio got the last word when Trump, shockingly, said the same thing about erasing state borders.
The shift marked the beginning of a long-awaited Trump takedown effort that was cheered by anxious Republicans nationwide who question Trump’s party loyalty and fear he’s unelectable in a general election.
“There is a lot of support for Trump here in Bergen County”. And yes, there is still time to stop him.
With Christie’s endorsement of Trump on deck and Super Tuesday just next week, more endorsements from NJ Republicans can soon be expected. Rubio interjected when the subject of immigration came up, “You’re [Trump] the only person on this stage that’s ever been fined for hiring people to work on your project illegally”. This has resulted in Marco Rubio, in particular, launching attacks on the real estate tycoon and schoolyard bully that he himself could have conjured up.
And at an evening rally in Oklahoma City, Trump said Rubio was “not a presidential guy”. During a ferocious two hours of debating, the 44-year-old chided Mr Trump over his inherited fortune that started his starry business career, his past employment of illegal workers on property developments and his sketchy healthcare plan and foreign policy. “He’s won three out of four states”, Cruz said here at a Christian broadcasting conference. “I don’t think this endorsement has any significant impact on that”.
After a heated Republican Primary debate in Houston Thursday night, the candidates continued to fire at one another on Friday during several rallies in Texas.
Christie also criticized Marco Rubio as a freshman member of the DC establishment who wouldn’t be able to fix Washington D.C.
“Let’s read some”, Rubio said. “I will not say that he was trying to cover up his ears”.
Rubio was the principal aggressor of the night.
Trump, for his part, insisted that even though officials in Mexico have said they won’t pay for his planned wall, “Mexico will pay for the wall”. “As of Wednesday, I wasn’t convinced there really was”.
On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton has SC mostly to herself two days before the first-in-the-South primary Saturday, and she’s using it to capitalize on her advantage over Vermont Sen. “We hit our stride in Nevada”.
Christie feels that Trump is overwhelmingly likely to be the nominee.
“We will see where the results are at the end of the day”, Arango said.
