Clinton, Sanders campaigns in full force ahead of SC primary
The Democratic presidential race moves to SC on Saturday, where Hillary Clinton is hoping to expand her winning streak against rival Sen. This week, while leaving SC largely to Clinton, he visited the majority black city of Flint, Michigan, where he listened to residents’ stories of living with a lead-poisoned water system. #WhichHillary?” said, “You owe black people an apology. “Bernie Sanders, Secretary Hillary Clinton would have to undergo a political meltdown of historic proportions to lose this contest”.
But their pledges have helped build a sense of inevitability around the former first lady.
After months of trying to introduce himself to voters who have known Clinton for decades, African-Americans in particular, Sanders appeared to acknowledge the reality of his race in SC in how he’s spent his time this past week.
South Carolina’s Democratic presidential primary is Saturday.
“I think he’s generating a good message and drawing people out that might not be drawn out for Hillary Clinton just by herself”, said Ausman, who has contributed to both campaigns. In the meantime, rapper Killer Mike of Atlanta is campaigning here on his behalf.
Clinton is doing what she can to win decisively.
Fifty-one percent of likely voters said a new justice should be appointed immediately, while 40 percent agreed that an appointment should occur after the presidential election. His robust online fundraising operation has drawn more than 4 million contributions since last spring and his average donation of $27 is so well-known among his supporters they often shout out the number when he talks about it during rallies.
“The questions that I came in with tonight I feel have been answered”, she said. During the same period, Sanders addressed just three rallies.
Another sore point for the Clinton campaign is the FBI investigation into her use of a private email server during her tenure as secretary of state. And the woman asked specifically about when Hillary Clinton described young gang members as, quote, “super predators” back in 1996. In some of those states I expect we are going do very well and win and maybe by large amounts.
But those weren’t voters who will cast ballots in the South, where Clinton has seemed to be one step ahead at every turn.
But if elected, Sanders’ most lasting impact for thousands of younger Americans could be his plan to radically shift who pays for public colleges and universities.
Still, Sanders has sought to expand his appeal with minority voters and he picked up a high-profile endorsement this week when film director Spike Lee said he was supporting the senator from Vermont and, in a nod to Senor Love Daddy in “Do The Right Thing”, Lee kicks off the ad with “Wake up!”
Many at the event said they believed Ms Clinton was qualified to lead the country and deliver on a range of issues, including education, jobs, healthcare and gun control.
