Facebook rolls out Reactions globally
Unfortunately, Facebook is limiting the use of the emoji to one reaction per post, for now at least.
The Reactions feature allows users to express love, laughter, surprise, sadness or anger, through five emojis. You see, not everything that’s posted on your your feed is “likeable”.
It can actually get a little confusing trying to work with them.
“We’ve been listening to people and know that there should be more ways to easily and quickly express how something you see in News Feed makes you feel”, said the social media giant yesterday.
For starters, brands can now get a more nuanced view of engagement sentiment on their Facebook pages.
The original thumbs-up icon isn’t going anywhere, but it’s now joined by five other animated options, including Love, Wow and Haha.
The company said that it had been conducting global research “including focus groups and surveys to determine what types of reactions people would want to use most” before Reactions was rolled out. The Like buttons seems to be not enough.
You might need to completely close your app then reopen it for the new reactions to appear.
Facebook has been testing out Reactions for about a year in select markets. The button holds the other reactions with the long press and on the site, you can access them by hovering over Like.
“We also looked at how people are already commenting on posts and the top stickers and emoticons as signals for the types of reactions people are already using to determine which reactions to offer”, he added. According to the news, the ” Yay” emotion which is also expected to be released was not seen in the Wednesday’s launch video.Facebook users also expecting a “Dislike” image in the list of emotions.
For this particular good news, here are six “likes” and six hearts.
