Ukrainian who posed as teen in Pa. faces sex assault charge
According to police, Samarin is a Ukrainian immigrant and he graduated from high school and attended two years of college there.
The complaint contends McClure-Potts also helped Samarin get a driver’s license.
A Pennsylvania high school honors student set to graduate this summer was arrested and charged on Tuesday after authorities discovered he was actually a 23-year-old Ukranian national using a false identity.
Samarin allegedly had used fake documents to become “Potts” and even had a social security card with his new identity. He was a star scholar, member of the National Honor Society and even runner-up for last Autumn’s homecoming king. Police investigated Samarin after receiving a tip two months ago.
