Lowry scores career-high 43 as Raptors beat Cavaliers, 99-97
The Raptors were led by Lowry’s 43 points, surpassing his previous career high of 41 points. Just the biggest, gutsiest, most unlikely regular-season win of a game that mattered in Raptors history.
“The No. 1 seed shows who we are as a team, but for me, personally, put me in one of the top 8 seeds in the playoffs and I believe I can win a playoff series”, James said. “Now we have to put our efforts into Detroit and worry about Detroit [on Sunday]”. He stayed in the game and the injury was revealed the next day….
I’ve been trying to decide what part of Lowry’s game was the best but it’s impossible to isolate because he was so good at everything. “If we come back and stub our toe on Sunday (against the Pistons) what does it mean? It’s one game in the course of an 82-game schedule – nothing has changed from before the game to after the game, other than we lost and they won”.
In the Cleveland dressing room, Love disagreed about the importance of the game. “We know how good they are”.
Lowry tied the score at 97 with a hook shot with 51.9 seconds remaining. Let’s take a look at how the raptors has performed aginst those teams. “And this right here is another test for us, to see if we can play with the best”.
Sparked by the scoring and playmaking of Paul, the Clippers ran off 20 consecutive points in the third quarter to break the game open.
There was incremental progress Friday – seeing Kevin Love playing down the stretch at the 5 and hitting a clutch 3 was a positive; the fact that James was able to play the entire second half without a rest only proves that he really is feeling 10 times better than he was last season, as he recently claimed – so it wasn’t all bad.
Monta Ellis gave the Pacers the lead with a layup over Walker with 16.2 seconds to go.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Cavaliers are the slight favorite on the road, as they are getting odds of -1.5 points in Toronto.
LeBron James top-scored for the Cavs with 25 points and eight rebounds.
Doug McDermott finished with 20 points and Paul Gasol had 16 points and 17 rebounds for the Bulls. Just for good measure, he also added nine assists and five rebounds to his credit. Friday’s game will be a night that is remembered; for the fearless way the Raptors rallied back, but also for how the team handled the victory afterward. Jared Dudley scored 14 points and Ramon Sessions added 12 for the Wizards. Only three finished in double figures Friday.
Jeff Green scored 22 points and Jamal Crawford had 21 for Los Angeles. Reserve center Bismack Biyombo had 11 rebounds and six points.

The All-Stars combined for 20 of the Raptors’ 27 points in the fourth quarter as Toronto pulled away late for 114-105 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night. The reigning National Basketball Association rookie of the year from Vaughan, Ont., who had celebrated his 21st birthday a night earlier with family and friends in Toronto, led the T’Wolves (18-40) with 26 points. The Mavericks dominated proceedings in the first half of the match, but Denver bounced back in the third and fourth quarters to force the match into additional time. However, the team lost much of its momentum and gave up a double digit lead late.
