‘Curly Sue’ Star Slays On ‘The Voice’ Auditions
Alisan Porter, the actress who played the famous Curly Sue, is previewed auditioning for this upcoming season of ‘The Voice’. Well, Curly Sue is all grown up! They were both on “Star Search” as children, so that’s a plus in her corner, but Shelton reminds the singer that he’s the most fun.
The film, the final one ever to be directed by John Hughes, saw Porter as an orphan adopted by a homeless con-artist, who gets a shot at a new life after trying to scam a wealthy lawyer.
Porter sang a soulful version of Linda Ronstadt’s “Blue Bayou” and impressed the crowd with her high notes. “I actually got sober nearly eight years ago”. “I fell in love and I had children and that was my goal to just be a good mom and I really feel like the universe had a plan for me because you turned for me today”. Man, she’s got pipes.
“I was an actress when I was very young”. We’re happy to report that the married, 34-year-old mother of two is still doing great these days, and is hoping to return to her true passion of singing. Not just for me but my fellow artist.
Tune in to KFOR on Monday, Feb 29 at 7 p.m.to see which coach Porter chooses.
